Primate Classifications
Primates can be found in a wide range of shapes and sizes, and be distributed in a wide variety of geographical regions and ecosystems around the world. In order to assist in identifying these animals, a series of groupings and common classification systems have evolved.

In this section, primates are first broken down either by their broad geographical distribution (i.e. Old World Monkeys and New World Monkeys) or by their general shared physical features (i.e. Prosimians, Great Apes, and Lesser Apes). Use these groupings and classifications to find out more about the incredible variety of primate species and their unique differences.
