Budzanani Tacheba is from Mapoka, Botswana and joined CI's Okavango Delta AquaRAP Expedition in the summer of 2000 working as a botanist.

Prior to becoming a RAP team member, he worked at the Okavango Research Center as a botanist, building a herbarium and a plant collection.

Budzanani's involvement in botany was spurred through his interest in ecology, but he feels that it is important to have a firm understanding of the different disciplines which comprise the field of ecology. Plant collecting can be uneventful at times, but Budzanani enjoys his job because upon completing his collections, he can establish a conclusive visual picture from his original research hypothesis.

Budzanani completed two years of general study at the University of Botswana before transferring to University of Edinburgh in Scotland, where he completed his B.S. degree in Ecological Sciences with an emphasis on Natural Resource Management. He hopes to someday return to school to complete a Ph.D. so he can broaden his education and gain more field experience.
